This Privacy Policy explains how the Linda Cothiere Campaign (“the Campaign,” “we,” “us”) — the campaign of Linda Cothiere for Miami-Dade County School Board, District 1 — collects, uses, and protects information you give us through this website and our voter-contact programs.
Information we collect
When you sign up to volunteer, subscribe to updates, request a yard sign, or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, and the volunteer interests you select. We also receive standard technical information (such as your browser type) when you submit a form.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Send you campaign news, event invitations, voting reminders, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising messages — by email, phone call, text message, and recorded voicemail;
- Follow up about volunteering, yard signs, and getting out the vote;
- Operate and improve our website; and
- Comply with Florida campaign-finance and election law.
Text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party, except: (1) with vendors, consultants, and service providers who need access to such information to deliver messages or carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); or (2) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation, or to comply with law enforcement or legal process.
If you opt in to text messages, message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. How to opt out
You may stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. We may confirm your opt-out by text message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at info@lindaforschoolboard.com. You may ask to be removed from our call or email lists at any time using the same contact.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with vendors who help us operate the Campaign (such as our messaging and email platforms), and as required by law. As noted above, text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Data retention & security
We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to operate the Campaign and to meet legal recordkeeping requirements, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. To request that we delete your information, email info@lindaforschoolboard.com.
Children’s privacy
This website and our messaging programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above.
